Thire, born CC-4477, was a clone trooper who served in the Coruscant Guard during the Clone Wars. As a young lieutenant in the Diplomatic Escort Group, Thire accompanied Jedi Master Yoda during a mission to Rugosa, and showed initiative in his leadership. He later completed Advanced Recon Commando training and was promoted to a commander, reporting to the future Darth Sidious. During Order 66, Thire was assigned to hunt down Yoda, the same Jedi Master he had served years ago.

History[]

Mission to Rugosa[]

Commander Thire

Thire on Rugosa

In 22 BBY Thire was assigned to escort Jedi Master Yoda to a mission to meet with the king of Toydararia, Katuunko alongside Jek and Rys on the planet Rugosa. However, Dooku had been expecting this, and sent droid attack cruisers to stop the Republic forces. Yoda, Jek, Thire, and Rys succesfuly landed on the moon Rugosa in escape pod. Thire was able to patch into the King's communication system, allowing Yoda to speak to King Katuunko. Asajj Ventress, who was standing by King Katuunko offered Yoda a challenge: she would have her droid forces try to capture Yoda, and if he defeated them, the Toydarians would then join the Republic, but if the droid forces defeated Yoda, the King would join with the Separatists.

Yoda agreed to the challenge, and him and his troopers made their way through the forest. While fleeing from the droids, Thire was hit by a rocket that was launched from a super battle droid. Yoda took control of a B2 battle droid and made it fire upon it's fellow droids. Droidekas appeared, making it where Yoda and the clones had to flee. Thire and the other clones noticed that they were running low on ammo and they were starting to despair, but Yoda gave words of wisdom to the clones. He informed Thire to have patience, instead of rushing headlong into battle. He also informed them that they may look the same, but the Torce was in all life forms. Yoda, Thire, Jek and Rys fought off droid forces with Thire firing his remaining rocket into an overhanging cliff, which caused an avalanche to crash down upon the droids.

Search for Yoda[]

Following this, Thire was promoted to Commander and was placed in charge of the Coruscant Guard. Thire was tasked to locate Master Yoda after his battle with Darth Sidious. Thire and his men looked thoroughly for Yoda, but could not find the Jedi. Thire and his men accompanied Sidious to Mustafar, where the Emperor went to rescue Darth Vader who was gravely injured.

Armor and Equipment[]

Thire initially wore Phase I clone trooper armor with maroon stripes on it, with the symbol of the Coruscant Guard adorning his left shoulder plate. He had a gray rank-signifying pauldron and macrobinoculars on his helmet, allowing him to see further ranges. He carried a DC-15A blaster rifle in combat and had two holsters for DC-17 hand blasters.

After the transition to Phase II, Thire's armor bore the default bright red pattern of the Coruscant Guard. He occasionally wore a red and black pauldron and kama, with additional ammunition pouches hanging over his shoulder. He continued using a DC-15A rifle.
