Sterling was a clone trooper that served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Sterling primarily served in the 501st Legion throughout the war, eventually being placed in the 332nd Company.
History
Sterling was born on the water planet of Kamino around 32 BBY,[2] cloned from the genetic template of the infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett.[1] Sterling received basic training and eventually graduated, being assigned to serve in the 501st Legion.
In 19 BBY, former Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano came to Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and asked for assistance in capturing the rogue Sith Lord Maul, who had been hiding on Mandalore, while also acting as the planet's secret leader.[3] However, due to an emergency request the two return to Coruscant, they were unable to do so. In response, Skywalker created a detachment of the 501st, called the 332nd Company.[3]
The company deployed almost immediately, in Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunships. As they got closer to their objective of Sundari, many of Maul's contingent, the Shadow Collective, attacked their ships, shoot many of them down. Eventually, this forced the troopers on board to deploy, as they were all equipped with jetpacks for this mission.[3] Eventually, the troopers made it down taking the docks over. Sterling and a unit of the 332nd were assigned to secure C-deck.[4]
Sterling, alongside the unit of troopers and Advanced Recon Commando Jesse, were soon attacked by Maul and his remaining Mandalorian forces. A majority of the troopers were killed, however, Sterling managed to survive, sustaining a blaster wound to the stomach. When Commander Rex and Tano arrived on the scene, Sterling informed them that Maul had taken Jesse hostage.[4]
Personality and Traits
Sterling possessed the same traits as Jango Fett, which included a height of 1.83 meters, black hair, and brown eyes.[1] Sterling was a loyal clone, which was portrayed by when he painted his armor to match Tano's facial tattoos.[3] He also was younger than Jesse, though by how long is undetermined.[4]
Armor and Equipment
Sterling was equipped with Phase II clone trooper armor that had blue markings from his time served in the 501st, with a helmet painted orange and white to match Tano's facial tattoos.[3] He was also equipped with a jetpack for the Siege of Mandalore. He likely possessed a DC-15A blaster rifle.
