The Mad Clone of Kaikielius was a clone trooper that served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. However, at some point during the war, he suffered a mental break - an unusual occurrence - and killed his entire unit.

History[]

The clone trooper was born in 32 BBY on the water planet of Kamino,[2] cloned from the genetic template of the infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett.[1] The trooper received basic training and eventually graduated, going unnoticed by his superiors during his conditioning in the clone military education complex.

Following his deployment, the trooper was sent to the Kaikielius campaign, which was a part of Operation Durge's Lance.[3] Between 21 and 20 BBY, the trooper was assigned to go on a reconnaissance mission with his unit. However, the trooper went berserk and killed the rest of the squad. He was found later, sitting docilely on an outcropping, surrounded by his brothers' bodies.[4]

Under interrogation by Republic Intelligence, the mad clone insisted that he had been on a training mission and that his brothers had been replaced by disguised battle droids. He even congratulated his interrogators on the realism of the "training mission", claiming he had almost been fooled by the droids using familiar unit codenames.[4]

Personality and Traits[]

The trooper was, like all clone troopers of Jango Fett, possessed a height of 1.83 meters, black hair, and brown eyes.[1] The trooper seemed fine during their training, eventually graduating without issue. However, around the time of his deployment to Kaikielius, his mental stability collapsed, killing his unit, which was highly unusual for troopers.[5] The Republic Intelligence interrogated him for this reason, and he believed that the deployment was a training mission and his squadmates were actually droids in disguise.[4]

Armor and Equipment[]

The trooper was deployed with likely a standard kit, consisting of a DC-15S blaster carbine or a DC-15A blaster rifle. Due to the timeline of his deployment, he was likely outfitted with Phase II clone trooper armor.[4]
