Korbel was a clone trooper medically-trained captain that was assigned to serve in the Grand Army of the Republic. The captain was in charge of a squad that was deployed to the planet of Zigoola, which was in wild space, to defend Senator Padme Amidala.
History[]
Korbel was born in 32 BBY on the water planet of Kamino,[2] cloned from the genetic template of infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett.[1] Korbel was given advanced training, eventually earning the rank of Captain, as well as the role of a medic.
Korbel was deployed to ensure the safety of Senator Padme Amidala, alongside a squad of troopers, to the planet of Wild Space planet of Zigoola to rescue Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi and Senator Bail Organa.[3] Because of Kenobi being severely injured, Jedi General Yoda hand-selected Korbel for the mission.[3]
Korbel and five of his men met Amidala at her private Coruscant spaceport, where they introduced themselves and became acquainted with Amidala. The unit made their quarters in the H-type Nubian yacht, and the unit set off to the planet. Upon arriving in the orbit of Zigoola, Korbel mentioned to Amidala that the yacht was the nicest ship he had flown in. In the process, he scanned for Kenobi and Organa's respective life-signs, which Yoda had provided him with.[3]
Korbel located the two of them on the night-side of the planet. Upon landing, he told Amidala to remain on the ship, while he and his men scouted the area first. After determining the perimeter was relatively safe, Korbel and the squad returned to inform Amidala. The unit located Kenobi and Organa, determining that the two had been injured, with the former's leg severely injured.[3]
Korbel and another trooper in his unit assisted Kenobi and Organa in the yacht, with the permission of Amidala. During their return trip to Coruscant, Korbel began to treat Kenobi's leg with the painkillers that were onboard. After a week of rest, Kenobi managed to make a full recovery.[3]
Personality and Traits[]
Korbel, like all clones of Jango Fett, stood at 1.83 meters tall, had black hair, and brown eyes.[1] Despite his intensive training, the Captain was very compassionate. He also had received full-medical training. During the flight to Zigoola, Korbel and his men kept a "professional and polite" distance to Amidala and took care of both her and themselves with efficiency. Korbel seemed to have tenderness and politeness about him, that seemed graceful, which was expressed in the way he assisted Kenobi into the ship.[3]
