"In the Air" is a short comic story published in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Comic UK 6.14. It was later included in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Magazine 4.

Plot[]

Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress is sent by Count Dooku to attack a Republic mining outpost in an asteroid field near Mirial. The outpost, which procures tibanna gas from creatures called beldons, is expecting a visit by Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, his second-in-command Cody, and Jedi General Yoda.

The three, riding in an Eta-class shuttle, are able to shoot down Ventress's vulture droids, stopping any immediate assault. Once they land, they meet the foreman and his son, Ars Fivvle. After noticing weakened gravity and spores in the air, they find Ventress with her droids and engage them in battle. The tibanna gas, made poisonous from the free-floating spores, is cleared by Yoda and the beldons as Obi-Wan fights off Ventress. Defeated, she flees, leaving the outpost safe.

Notes[]

  1. ↑ This story is set before the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "Heroes on Both Sides" (21–20 BBY), which marks the debut of revamped appearances for several main characters. Considering that the comics featured in Star Wars Comic UK are published in chronological order, and that "Burn the Behemoth!" is the first comic in the series to feature the new character models, it can be concluded that "In the Air" takes place sometime around 22 BBY.
