Hunter Squadron was a clone trooper squadron that served in the Grand Army of the Republic, within the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars.

History[]

Hunter Squadron was likely created in 32 BBY on the water planet of Kamino when the clone troopers were commissioned.[1] The squadron received basic training and eventually graduated, being deployed into the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars.[2]

In 22 BBY, at the Battle of Gwori, Hunter Squadron, as well as Tracker Squadron, were deployed under the command of Jedi General Plo Koon. Hunter Squadron made a hyperspace jump which had been considered a high-risk jump so that they would be able to pass through the Separatist blockade and begin bombing the shipyards.[2]

The initial strike was a success, however, Koon realized that there were too many vessels and not enough bombs to continue striking the blockade with their on-hand resources. With this in mind, Koon changed the objective to bring down the shipyard itself, with the attacks being successful. By the end of the battle, the shipyard was destroyed marking a Republic victory. However, Tracer was killed in the process.[2] Hunter Squadron would later be deployed at the First Battle of Felucia, as a means of assisting the retreating 501st Legion and 212th Attack Battalion.[3]

Armor and Equipment[]

The troopers within the Hunter Squadron was equipped with Phase I clone trooper armor in the pilot configuration, likely with brown markings. The squadron was also equipped with BTL-B Y-wing starfighters.
