Glitch was a clone trooper that served in the Grand Army of the Republic. He was considered odd, hence his name, due to his belief in the fact that he could use the Force.

History[]

Glitch was a clone trooper who was born in 32 BBY on the water planet of Kamino,[2] cloned from the genetic template of the bounty hunter Jango Fett.[1] Glitch received basic training and eventually graduated from basic training and was deployed in the Grand Army of the Republic under Law's squad.[3]

In 20 BBY, Glitch and his squad, which consisted of Lieutenant Law, Cannon, and Horns, were deployed to the planet of Draay 2, alongside Jedi General B'ink Utrila and Jedi Commander Rennax Omani, to locate an ancient Sith artifact known as the Gauntlet of Kressh the Younger.[3] Upon entering the temple and looking around, Glitch triggered a failsafe, which was a giant Temple Droid. The droid attacked, but the troopers' blasters had no effect. Horns even tried to blow it up with a pack full of thermal detonators, to no avail. The Jedi attacked with their lightsabers, also to no avail. While the squad took cover instantly, Glitch stood out and tried to use the Force, which led to Cannon berating him for this.[3] Eventually, the usage of the Force shut the droid down.

While exploring the temple further, Glitch split off with the Jedi, while the rest of the troopers went further in. After locating a cave etching, Utrila sent Glitch to tell the rest of the troopers to wait for them.[3] Upon locating the rest of his squad, they entered a dead end with a giant pillar, but no sign of the artifact. While inspecting the pillar, Cannon pulled a piece out of it, opening a cavern where wormlike creatures called Sarls came out. The troopers blasters proved ineffective against the creatures. Cannon used his helmet against them, which resulted in being destroyed. The Sarls had been wrapped around the artifact, which resulted in them invulnerable. Utrila managed to touch the artifact, which resulted in her calling them to fall back.[3]

Due to the dark side surrounding the artifact, Utrila became incredibly shut off, aside from giving the order to make camp there for the night and that they would contact the Jedi Council in the morning. Omani sealed the chamber while the troopers set up tents. Glitch and Omani went out to take first watch, while the rest of the team rested. While having a discussion about the Force, the two were interrupted by the Death Watch. In the battle, the two split up, with Glitch ending up with one of her lightsabers. While falling back to the temple to wake the rest of the team, Glitch was caught in an explosion, launching him face-first into the ground. The Death Watch had taken Omani captive and ordered the team to put their weapons down. Pre Visla, the leader, took notice of Horns' symbols on his helmet and ordered him to kill Utrila as a way to prove himself a Death Watch member. He refused, which resulted in Visla putting his blaster to his face. Glitch, now up and active again, activated Omani's lightsaber he was holding, which distracted the Death Watch from executing Horns.[3]

Visla, who fancied a fight, drew the Darksaber and engaged in a duel with Glitch. Glitch, during the duel, reawoke the droid, which resulted in a good distraction for the Mandalorians. Law, Horns, and Cannon regained control of their weapons and opened fire on the Mandalorians, with Utrila rescuing Omani. Glitch and Visla were dueling. Visla taunted Glitch about being a Jedi, which led to Glitch destroying the temple due to the inability of knowing which hole to drive the lightsaber into. Omani, Rennax, Law, Horns, and Cannon made it out of the temple. The Death Watch retreated from the planet, realizing there was no longer a viable reason to engage in battle.[3] Horns removed his helmet and threw it off into the canyon and the unit gave a memorial, as they believed Glitch was killed. Omani left the Jedi Order soon thereafter, due to Glitch's apparent sacrifice. However, Glitch managed to use the gauntlet, which protected him through the temple crashing around him. He threw the gauntlet into the river in the canyon, with Glitch admiring the rising sun.[3]

Personality and Traits[]

Glitch was different from other clones. He believed that he could potentially wield the Force and use it similar to how the Jedi did. He was considered a poor trooper by his brothers and received several mockings by them. Glitch did poorly in training, barely graduating, likely due to the fact of his beliefs in using the Force.[3]

Glitch, like all troopers cloned from Jango Fett, was 1.83 meters tall, had black hair, and brown eyes.[1]

Armor and Equipment[]

Glitch possessed Phase II armor and a DC-15S blaster carbine. His armor had custom purple markings on it. He also knew to wield a lightsaber, as he capably handled himself during his duel with Visla.[3]
