Glid Station Unit, also known as the Orto Plutonia clone security force, was a clone trooper unit that served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, who were stationed on Orto Plutonia to monitor nearby Separatist activity.

History[]

The Glid Station Unit was deployed during the Clone Wars, serving within the Grand Army of the Republic. The unit was under the command of Commander Mag and was placed on the moon of Orto Plutonia to serve as an advanced warning station for nearby Separatist activity. The Republic established a base on the moon, called Glid Station.[1]

In 21 BBY, Commander Mag and Shiv were out on patrol, positioning sensors for the station in case they came across enemy combatants. However, a storm blew in, causing the two to hold up there, pitching their tents and preparing to stay the night in the cold, setting up a torch as well. While the two spoke about their experiences, they were attacked by nearby Talz, resulting in both Shiv and Mag being killed.[1]

Sometime soon thereafter, the unit was found by the Talz, with all the troopers inside being killed brutally by spears and pikes, with many of the fallen troopers' helmets being posted in the main hangar as a shrine. Their bodies would later be discovered by a platoon of the 501st Legion.[2]

Armor and Equipment[]

Glid Station Unit possessed unmarked Phase I clone trooper armor and red-lined Clone cold assault trooper armor. The troopers who were running the station specifically were unarmed, perhaps possessing a few DC-15S blaster carbines and DC-15A blaster rifles. Mag and Shiv, while on their scouting operation, were equipped with cold assault armor, as well as a DC-15S blaster carbine and a pair of DC-17 hand blasters. The station was also equipped with a hangar, that held BARC speeders and FREECO speeders for quicker transportation in the frozen arctic.
