This is a Class 3 article.

Fordo, designated as Alpha-77 or ARC-77, was an ARC trooper captain during the Clone Wars. He fought in many battles during the Clone Wars notably the Battle of Muunlist, Battle of Hypori and Battle of Coruscant. He was in charge of an elite group of ARC troopers known as The Muunilinst 10 and was one of the few troopers to earn Jaig Eyes, which he earned as a result of his action on Hypori.

Battle of Muunilinst[]

Fordo on Muunilinst

As part of the assault on the droid factories on Muunilinst, Fordo and his team of ARC troopers were sent by Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi to disable a CIS artillery battery.[1] Being granted the rank of Task Force Commander, Fordo and his unit separated from the main attack force, entering the artillery gun's location. The unit's gunship was shot down, with all but the pilots surviving. However, following the crash, the unit was ambushed, with CT-43/002 being killed in the assault.[2] Fordo, in a quick reaction, ordered one of his men to scan the buildings for enemy positions and directed one of his Lieutenants to fire a Plex missile launcher at those positions.[2] The unit continued down the streets of Muunilist before being attacked by an AAT. Fordo and a majority of his men lay down cover fire, while another Lieutenant infiltrated and destroyed the tank from the inside.[2] Eventually, they managed to make it to the gun battery.[2] His men easily take the gun's personnel by storm, and they successfully destroy it. The surviving members regrouped on the artillery gun's control tower.[2]

The squad awaited the arrival of Kenobi, who eventually arrived after a brief engagement with the bounty hunter Durge. Fordo and his men managed to insert into the Banking Clan's headquarters, forcing the Muuns present to surrender. However, Durge reemerged and attacked Kenobi, Fordo, and the troopers. Durge and Kenobi engaged in battle for a brief moment until Kenobi was seemingly consumed by Durge. Fordo and his men paused for a moment, before he fired an electro-shock cable into Durge's body, which only enraged him. However, Kenobi, utilizing the force, seemingly destroyed the bounty hunter, arresting the survivors of the battle.[3] Once the assault on the city ended, Fordo and his men assisted Kenobi in logistics and overseeing the aftermath before an unidentified ship arrived, containing Jedi Commander Anakin Skywalker, following his pursuit of Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress.[4] Skywalker and Kenobi received a transmission from Jedi General Daakman Barrek, who was leading an assault on Hypori, requesting an extraction from the planet, dealing with Separatist General Grievous.[4] The Muunilinst 10 were deployed to extract the Jedi survivors, outfitted with a new gunship.[4]

Battle of Hypori[]

Fordo was deployed to the end of the Battle of Hypori alongside the rest of his squad, assigned to rescue any Jedi survivors that may be left. Fordo included ten Lieutenants in his detachment, two operating heavy equipment.[5] As they arrived on the planet, the gunship took out numerous battalions of Separatist droids, dropping numerous explosives as they arrived at the ruins of an Acclamator cruiser, where the Jedi hid. Once the gunship entered the ruins, Fordo and the Lieutenants deployed from the gunship, springing into action to locate and rescue any Jedi they could find. Fordo ordered two of the Lieutenants to recover life-signs from nearby, which was revealed to be Jedi Generals Shaak Ti and Aayla Secura. The remaining force continued forward, locating Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi engaging in battle with General Grievous.[5] The team opened fire on the cyborg general, who dodged and avoided their incoming fire. In the battle, Grievous killed four Lieutenants before the LAAT/i arrived once more and provided heavy fire to force Grievous to retreat.[5] Although Mundi wanted to pursue Grievous, Fordo stopped the General, stating that Secura and Mundi needed to receive medical attention immediately if they were to survive. The remaining force retreated from the planet, rendezvousing with Republic forces on Coruscant.[5] Due to his efforts, Fordo was awarded the Chancellor's Service Medal, but he refused, and had the honor bestowed upon the late CT-43/002, one of his men who had perished during the Battle of Muunilinst.[2][5]

Battle of Coruscant[]

In 19 BBY, Fordo was present on Coruscant when it was attacked by the Separatist forces. Fordo was tasked with defending Sector Four of the planet, which was a vital location, according to what was established as ARC troopers roles in the event of Coruscant being under siege.[6][7] Fordo realized quickly that his position was being overrun. While he called for reinforcements, Fordo took his DC-15A blaster rifle and smacked a Super Battle Droid to the ground before firing into it. He drew his sidearm and opened fire on incoming droids, picking up a fallen comrades DC-15A as well. Fordo and his men held their ground, however, eventually called a retreat. However, at that moment, Jedi General Yoda arrived and countermanded the order.[6] Jedi General Mace Windu arrived shortly thereafter. Windu and Yoda took the left flank of the Sector, while Fordo and his men secured the right.[8] However, during the battle, Chancellor Palpatine was captured and taken to General Grievous' ship, Invisible Hand. Eventually, Kenobi and Skywalker rescued the Chancellor, bringing him back, with the battle ending in a Republic victory.[9]

Armor and Equipment[]

Fordo in his Phase II armor

Fordo was ranked as an ARC Trooper Captain, wearing a lighter version of red-trimmed Phase I clone trooper armor that was outfitted with more protection and a blast-dampening pauldron.[1] Fordo's pauldron contained an ammunition pouch, which held additional ammo for his DC-17 hand blasters. His armor was equipped with a comlink system and grappling hook on the left wrist.[3] His Phase I helmet was also equipped with a rangefinder.[3] Fordo also wore a belt that allowed for more ammunition to be held, as well as a Kama, which held his his DC-17 blasters and held a great deal of symbolic nature to the Mandalorian culture.[1] Once he equipped his Phase II clone trooper armor, he discarded the Kama, but continued wearing the pauldron. He consistently used his DC-17 hand blasters, but also carried a DC-15A blaster rifle during the Battle of Coruscant.[6] His Phase II armor possessed a helmet similar to Commander Neyo, losing the rangefinder. The helmet possessed Jaig Eyes, a mark of honor and distinguishment that only a few troopers achieved, including Commander Blackout and Captain Rex.[6]
