Charlie was a Clone trooper that served within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Unlike many clones, however, early on, he deserted from the GAR for a brief time before being captured. However, he would be given a chance at redemption.
History[]
Charlie was born in 32 BBY on the water planet of Kamino.[2][1] Being cloned from Jango Fett, he was trained to be a part of the Grand Army of the Republic. Charlie would go through basic training and eventually graduate and be assigned to serve within his own squad.[3]
Early on in the war, however, Charlie would desert from his squad and the Grand Army. Eventually, he was captured and brought back to Kamino to be reprimanded, alongside three other troopers. Upon their return, they were greeted by their fellow clone trooper brothers with resentment and disgust, which caused Charlie to realize the error in his ways.[3]
Charlie was given the opportunity, following a fight that broke out between a fellow deserter known as Heater and Slim. Commander Wolffe of the 104th Battalion broke the fight up, pulling Heater aside later on, giving him the option to attempt a mission that would clear his name and redeem him. Charlie was pulled into Heater's new squad, alongside Sync and Racetrack and the unit was shipped off.[3] The unit, who were assigned to assault a Separatist weapons depot, were still getting used to being back and being around one another. Despite this, they spoke freely. However, while discussing their tactics or reasons for deserting, the gunship they were on was shot down, with the four of the troopers managing to survive the crash, killing only the pilot.[3]
After escaping the threat of immediate danger, the unit created a new plan, which would work as a success, despite Racetrack's consistent complaints and remarks about deserting again. With that, the squad was redeemed, despite their previous desertions.[3]
Armor and Equipment[]
Charlie was equipped with Phase I clone trooper armor, as well as standard weaponry for infantry, including DC-15S blaster carbines.
Personality and Traits[]
Charlie was an independent clone, which was one of the two extremes which the training of the GAR had produced; the other being unquestioning in loyalty. Because of his independence, he would desert his original squad. However, he would look back on this with regret and would make an attempt to redeem himself when the opportunity arose.[3]
Charlie, like a majority of his clone brethren, was born in 32 BBY on Kamino.[1][2] He also possessed the standard traits of Jango Fett, including brown eyes, a height of 1.83 meters, and black hair.[1] However, unlike most, he grew his hair out and held it in a pony-tail.[3]
