85th Infantry Brigade was a clone trooper brigade that served in the Grand Army of the Republic. The unit was deployed to the planet of Haurgab, with a few members of the 14th Infantry Brigade joining.[1]
History[]
The 85th Infantry Brigade was a unit that was created at the beginning of the commission of the Grand Army of the Republic,[2] in 32 BBY.[3]
In 19 BBY, the unit was deployed to the planet of Haurgab with a few members of the 14th Infantry Brigade. The unit was serving alongside a few units of the Special Operations Brigade, in the squads of Delta Squad and Omega Squad, all under the command of Jedi General Etain Tur-Mukan.[1] Omega Squad, while on deployment, killed the Maujasi leader Jolluc. However, even after a month after the leader's death, the battle continued to rage on. Unbeknownst to all forces present, the 14th Infantry Brigade was also deployed within the 85th and was serving as a testing ground, as the 14th consisted of clones from Centax-2, rather than Kamino.[1]
Tur-Mukan recommended that the Republic withdraw their forces, as the Maujasi were proving to give no ground and would be as much of a problem for the Separatists as they were for the Republic.[1]
Armor and Equipment[]
85th Infantry Brigade was a unit consisting of average clone troopers, which, by the time of their deployment in 19 BBY, was given Phase II clone trooper armor for their deployment. The unit, due to its ranking as a standard unit, likely possessed DC-15S blaster carbines and DC-15A blaster rifles.[1]
